I became first time pet owner of two guinea pigs in 2012 after a supervisor who let two store bought guinea pig mate gifted me the two offspring (sow and boar). I learnt about their care and have done my best to secure their care and happiness. Knowing that they are herd animals and that companionship is important, I've adopted a partner from a rescue center whenever it was necessary due to passings. Just recently, with my Gracie crossing over, I find myself with just my Marcos. I treasure him dearly and wish to see him rehomed in a household that already has guinea pigs to live out his elder years. He is so smart and has a gentle heart and playful nature. From what I know, a family boarded him at the rescue center and never came back for him. As such I do not want to return him there (though they would take him as he was adopted from them). I've always done my best for my guineas. As I am wrapping up my undergraduate and preparing for graduate school, if a kind caregiver adopted him, I would be so thankful.
